Welcome to our IPSEA short course: 'What an EHC plan should contain'

The course content will take around 40 minutes to work through, and includes videos, interactive quizzes and downloadable resources. It's important to complete all sections to ensure you get the most out of this course.

The aim of this course is to set out some of the key information about the contents of an education, health and care (EHC) plan. This course will provide background for those who are unfamiliar with this area of law or refresh and cement your understanding if you are familiar with it. 

The learning outcomes for this course are:

  • To understand the key things that should be in an EHC plan 

  • To understand what parents/young people should do if they are not happy with their EHC plan.

Is good to learn this course as it outlines all the sections in the EHC plan and what goes on in each section as we have needs and provisions that are needed to be provided for a better outcome. Also it has helped me to know the types of needs and provisions and where they can be placed thus under special educational need or provision, health care need or provision and social care need or provisions.
